Star Trek Insurrection Review (Part 4 of 4)
www.blip.tv watch the full review uninterrupted here....An epic Nemesis review will be coming eventually! Don't forget to subscribe!! This is the 4th and final installment of my Star Trek: Insurrection Review. In this last part I examine the ending of the film and how some youthful radiation causes everyone to make poor decisions. One has to wonder if the film makers and writers were exposed to this same radiation. It still saddens my soul how poorly made all the TNG films were as opposed to the series which was for the most part very well written. The problem is that the hack producers that were left in charge of the series after Gene died all took part in the story aspects of the feature films cause they needed to ensure the marketability factor and their own egos I assume (again see: catch 22 or contradiction) If they had taken any one writer from the show and said "hey you, write a feature TNG film okay?" we would have had a slew of better films. Instead TNG fell victim to "higher up meddling and marketability" and this began the downward spiral towards the end of trek as we know it. These movies and their plot lines have the logic, realism, and complexity of a Saturday morning cartoon show. They lack the grit and awesomeness of the TOS features and feel sanitized and cheap. Fuck everything. By the way and for the record, Insurrection is probably the best of the 4 films too. I think I have more to say about Nemesis. But nothing will ever top Generations as far shit goes.
