Elaine (Candice Bergen) thinks she and her husband, fading Hollywood star Ross Conti are faithful to each other. TRIVIA: Part 1 of ABC's "Hollywood Wives" (airdate: February 17, 1985) did very well in the ratings finishing 7th for the week and pulling in 18.6 million households. Some reports at the time however suggested ABC had higher expectations for the series and found the numbers mediocre. Although Part 2, which aired on Monday February 18th slipped to the 13th place for the week, the conclusion which aired on Tuesday February 19th rose to the 2nd place in the weekly ratings. Nevertheless, many critics at the time, who branded the series trashy and sleazy, were quick to call its solid performance a "ratings failure."
