Aaron Copland - The Heiress (1949)

This is part of Aaron Copland's score for 1949 movie The Heiress, directed by William Wyler and starring Olivia de Havilland and Montgomery Clift. The acclaimed composer eventually won his (only) Academy Award for his film music, but it is still disputed how much of this movie's score was actually written by Copland himself. You see, the producer found his music to be a little to challenging for audiences, so they party replaced it. Anyway, this audio clip is comprised of three themes from the movie- The Departure, Morris Suggests Love and The Proposal. And if you haven't watched the movie yet, be sure to do just that---you won't regret it! ;)
