Here is a description of the movie: Jason(William Holden) is a former GI struggling through college,when he learns that his wife Peggy(Jeanne Crain) is expecting a baby. Money is tight for the young couple, & inexpensive housing is at a premium in the post-war boom times. Peggy meets Professor Henry Barnes(Edmund Gwenn), a college instructor who lives alone in a huge house. Barnes is convinced that his best years are behind him & that he has no purpose in life. But Peggy convinces Prof. Barnes to let her & Jason stay in his attic. As the newlyweds try to turn the cramped space into a home, the Prof. gets to know his tenants better, & their enthusiastic optimism rubs off on him,giving him a sense that there are things left to be accomplished & reasons to go on in life.
