"The Earthling" ~ A 10 Minute Tribute To The 1981 Film ~ Starring William Holden & Ricky Schroder
The 1981 film "The Earthling" was filmed in Australia and featured William Holden (in one of his last roles) and Ricky Schroder (hot off of his Oscar nominated turn in The Champ). This beautiful film about a dying man who teaches a young boy stranded in the Australian outback how to survive, after the boy's parents are killed in a horrific accident. Never relased on DVD, this movie features one of the best theme songs ever to not be nominated for an Oscar "Halfway Home" sung by Maureen McGovern. The song its featured here(in part) here, but can be heard in its entirety in a musical tribute to "The Earthling" also available on my channel. I hope you enjoy this look back at a wonderful film.
