This video footage is quite possibly the last public appearance by Mr. Tony Curtis who sadly passed away in September of 2010. Mr. Curtis kindly attended the monthly lunch meeting of the Las Vegas Media Group, an unofficial organization of Las Vegas journalists, photographers, and history buffs; many of whom are long retired but who documented the history of Las Vegas as it happened. Forgive the quality of the footage and the audio; Mr. Curtis was a surprise attendee. Had we known about his appearance in advance, we most certainly would have prepared for it with high quality video equipment. However, the stories told by Mr. Curtis in this rare footage are worth listening to and viewing, no matter the condition of the video. Here you will find an excerpt of one of the stories he recounted about his first trip to Hollywood, before he became a major star.
