According to the Associated Press, Curtis died of cardiac arrest. Curtis' wife, Jill Curtis, said her husband "died peacefully...surrounded by those who love him and have been caring for him." Tony Curtis was married six times. His first wife was actress Janet Leigh; their daughter is actress Jamie Lee Curtis. On September 30, 2010, Jamie Lee Curtis issued a brief statement, saying: "My father leaves behind a legacy of great performances in movies and in his paintings and assemblages. He leaves behind children and their families who loved him and respected him and a wife and in-laws who were devoted to him. He also leaves behind fans all over the world." Tony Curtis also leaves behind five other children, including daughters Kelly Lee Curtis and Allegra Curtis - both of whom are actresses. During his decades-long career, Tony Curtis starred in some of Hollywood's most well-known classic films, including the 1959 comedy ''Some Like It Hot'' with Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe.
