Tanner Hall is a 2009 drama film that centers on four girls coming-of-age in boarding school. It was written and directed by Tatiana von Fürstenberg and Francesca Gregorini. It stars Brie Larson, Amy Ferguson, Rooney Mara, Georgia King, Tom Everett Scott, Amy Sedaris, Chris Kattan, and Shawn Pyfrom. The film was developed by Tatiana von Fürstenberg and Francesca Gregorini while they attended Brown University. Both women had attended boarding schools as children. It was filmed in Rhode Island, where the two met. The story centers on the lives of four girls, Fernanda, Lucasta, Kate, and Victoria (played by Brie Larson, Amy Ferguson, Rooney Mara and Georgia King respectively) who struggle to survive adolescence in a rustic boarding school. Tanner Hall is an Independent film. It is the first feature film for von Fürstenberg and Gregorini. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2009. It was also well received at the Hamptons Film Festival. It was picked up by Anchor Bay Films, a division of Anchor Bay Entertainment, although the release date has yet to be confirmed. There was a sneak peek on April 12, 2010, at the Gen Art festival in New York.[The film had trouble with distributors, but because of the casting of Rooney Mara in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Anchor Bay plans to release it in late 2011. via Yahoo.com
