Hero Worship: Jonah Hex

Jonah Hex is a gun-toting Western anti-hero with a perpetual sneer, thanks to a blazing hot tomahawk that was pressed to his cheek after an ax duel with an Apache. Hex made his first comic appearance in 1972 and has been blasting away ever since. He wasn't that popular in the States, perhaps, but he was a rollicking success in Europe and Japan. Hex has roamned the west through more than 100 issues, venturing as far afield as South America and even China. He has appeared in "Batman: The Animated Series," and serious discussions are taking place at this moment about the possibility of a feature film. For music, Hex is backed up by Tex Ritter doing "Conversation with a Gun," and "Blood on the Saddle."
