It was Florida preacher, pastor Terry Jones who raised the idea of burning the Koran. He called on people to set alight to thousands of copies on September 11th last year. The former hotel manager who is often seen with a pistol within his reach worked as a missionary in Europe for 30 years before taking over as head of the fundamentalist Dove World Outreach Center. What he dubbed, "International Burn a Koran day" never happened. It was last month that a Koran was set alight by a pastor called Wayne Sepp with Terry Jones presiding over the burning. ... www.euronews.net
