Pastor Terry Jones, depressed that his contrived media frenzy was waning (or, put another way, that thousands of inconsiderate Japanese were dying and/or suffering horribly and generally hogging attention that was rightfully his), has decided to go through with his threat to burn the Koran after all. In a somber mock trial, Jones and his bumbling acolytes pronounced the Koran a thing of evil and ceremoniously torched a copy for the cameras. He's right, of course: the Koran is a thing of evil. He missed the other half of the equation, however: he should have thrown the Christian Bible on as kindling. In fact, quite hilariously, every item he ticked off his List of Evil during "sentencing" could readily be applied to the Bible as well. In subsequent news, a teeming mob of enraged troglodytes slaughtered 12 innocent people in Afghanistan as a fiery display of their righteous discontent with Jones' actions. Meanwhile, up in Heaven, Yahweh sucked in the sweet savor of burning stupidity and human blood and was pleased mightily.
