August 21, 1936: At the tail end of a big band session, Benny broke to gather newly married Lionel Hampton (he got hitched to Gladys in Yuma, Arizona on the way to this very session from his gig in California) with the trio to cut the first recording by the Benny Goodman Quartet - this very cut. :) And, this is my attempt to shoot this recording "atmospherically" - night vision on the camera. ;) The Original Benny Goodman Quartet here: Benny Goodman - clarinet Teddy Wilson - piano Gene Krupa - drums (or "traps" as the original label refers) Lionel Hampton - vibraphone (I also have another - rougher - Victor Scroll copy of this record autographed by Hamp ;) ) Dig.....
