The State of California calls to the stand their star witness, twenty-one year old Linda Kasabian, former member of Charles Manson's cult-like hippie "Family". Kasabian testified for 18 days in exchange for immunity in the trial of Manson and his followers for the 1969 murders of several people, including actress Sharon Tate. The bizarre trial dominated international headlines for months. President Richard Nixon even managed to have his say during the proceedings.
