Emmys 2011, Best Choreography Nominee: Mia Michaels

This video contains the dances that Mia Michaels has been nominated for for Best Choreography at the 2011 Emmys. The dances are shown in the order that I personally like them, from least to most. When We Dance (Contemporary): I'm not a fan of this dance. None of it works for me. I don't like the costumes, choreography, or the overall feel of the routine. I don't think this is a good representation of what Mia has the ability to do. This Bitter Earth: Again, I don't think this dance shows all that Mia can do as a choreographer. I do like parts of this dance, but at many times it's too scattered and won't appeal to a viewer who doesn't have a background knowledge of dance. Alex Wong is great in this piece. Alice in MIa-Land: Wow! This is fantastic. I can (and have) watch this performance over and over again. I love everything about this dance and think that it has all that a great dance should. I love the costumes, choreography, the overall feel, and the performances given. Allison is fantastic, I'm so glad she got to do this piece (instead for Lauren Froderman) because it was meant for her! Overall: Though I don't like two of the three dances Mia was nominated for, I think she still has a good chance of winning this category. Mia's name is very popular in this category, and I believe it will hold a lot of weight for her. Nine times out of ten I'd go with Mia for Best Choreography, but this year I don't think she'll take home the win. Thank you for watching, and comments ...
