Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with today's UPI entertainment update on this Monday, the 3 of March 2008. Australian actress Sophie Monk is speaking out about her breakup with rocker Benji Madden. Monk says their split was mutual and he did not leave her for his new love interest Paris Hilton. Monk and Madden called off their engagement last month and two weeks later Madden was seen around town with Hilton. Prince Harry is giving praise to his fellow soldiers. The prince tells the media he wouldn't call himself a hero but says those who've been injured on the frontlines are the heroes. He returned to England on Saturday after spending 10 weeks righting the Taliban in Afghanistan. He had to be removed when word of his deployment was made public. Will Ferrell's new film is leading the way at US theaters. "Semi-Pro" grabbed the number one spot at the box offices over the weekend...taking in more than 15 million dollars in ticket sales. "Vantage Point" starring Dennis Quaid and Forest Whitaker fell from the top spot last week to number 2. And in third is the fantasy film "The Spiderwick Chronicles" starring Freddie Highmore and Nick Nolte. Daytime TV stars teamed up with Broadway stars last night to support good cause. The Fourth Annual ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Gala brought big celebrity guests like "All My Children's" Bobby Eakes and Susan Lucci.
