Young golfer Brodie Silver has a mighty swing

YOUNG golfer Brodie Silver truly is a little tiger. At just three the pint-sized golfer is hitting balls with the strength of someone three times his age. He has had lessons at Brighton Golf Club for the past eight weeks and can already hit more than 70m. His dad Efraim said Brodie had picked up golf clubs since he was just one year old. "He started off with a plastic golf club and whacking it around the house," Mr Silver said. "When he was about 18 months I took him to Albert Park golf range and bought him a bucket of 50 balls. He hit all 50 and then cried for another 50, so he hit another 50 and cried for more." Brodie's grandmother noticed his love of the sport and enrolled him in lessons a couple of months ago. When asked if he compared to Tiger Woods, who was striking balls on national TV at age two, Mr Woolfson said he didn't want to compare. "I've been coaching for seven years. I see 100 kids a week and he's one of the brightest prospects I've ever seen," he said. Brodie yesterday got a close look at the Presidents Cup ahead of the international golf event.
