Special agent Randolph Scott from Chicago is sent out west to bring in the notorious Reno brothers. He goes uncover as an outlaw to gain the confidence of corrupt Seymour town officials and the brothers, but his work becomes complicated by his feelings for Laura, the Reno's sister. It all comes to a head when Barlow sets up the gang in an early morning train robbery.
