Rat Pack Jazz - I've put together some video footage to show how a vocal recording session works (at least in my case). November 01, 2010 Take 4 or 5 (who's keeping tabs?) the lead song "I Never Forgot" for Frank Lamphere's EP of original songs "Frank Swings" comes to life. This was a "scratch vocal" hence the lips don't perfectly match the words, on the "keeper" take. Like the Japanese actors in a Godzilla movie. The vocalists whom, years ago were able to go in and sing live with the band and have a great take (without all the overdubs and redos) right there, were amazing! How did they ever do that? Making small group recordings are a collaborative effort. The arrangement changed considerably from the rehearsals. For the better! "Both his singing and original songs stand on their own merits.
