Paul Hogan rose to legendary comedian iconic fame from humble beginnings as a worker on the much famed Sydney Harbour bridge overlooking million dollar views of the Opera House and harbour. "Hoges" as we like to call him Down Under here would have to be the ultimate Aussie character "lariken" prankster on our screens and has been MUCH imitated - but never equalled. As our ambassador to over seas tourists during the 80's he set the bench mark for a landslide tourist influx to our happy country so that folks could "throw a shrimp on the barbie". The most amazing thing about him is that he is just being himself - that is his comedy is simply a natural extension of himself and that's why he does it so unbelievably well. He's a natural and the real deal and is forever taking the mickey out of everyone and often mostly himself in his sketches. Who could forget such golden greats as Strop and Hoges love den where they were forever trying to be romantic with the girls using every trick in the book including an Aussie home made ouija board using an upturned Vegemite jar! Comedy abounds as Aussie stereotypes are reduced to rubble with just once look at the delightful Delvine Delaney who I was lucky enough to see once at Sydney airport watching the Concorde visit (maybe she was on it I don't know), but she was just STUNNING and you just couldn't look away as her beauty rivetted you to a stand still, and I have the sharpest eyes in the industry so I was most certainly spellbound for ...
