We've had many cases of old faces from the UK's soaps making a comeback over recent months. For example, just a couple of days back, we reported how Nick Berry and Michael French are to return to EastEnders. Well one man who upstages them all is Coronation Street star Philip Lowrie, who has turned his soap comeback into a WORLD RECORD! Philip has broken the world record for the longest gap between TV appearances in the same show. Lowrie, who appeared as Dennis Tanner in the soap's first ever episode back in 1960 and stayed until 1968, reprised the role in May this year after a whopping 43 years. He said, "I've always been proud to have been a member of the original cast of Coronation Street. "Now I'm doubly proud to be honoured in the Guinness World Records book for returning to play a part that I've always loved." Philip also hinted that viewers may soon find out what Dennis was up to in that time as characters from Dennis's past could soon be appearing on the street. Will anyone ever beat the 43 year record?
