Red is an upcoming American action-comedy based on the comic book limited series of the same name created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, and published by DC Comics, publisher Tribute. The film stars Bruce Willis Robert Schwentke directing a script by Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber. The film is scheduled for worldwide release on October 22, 2010. Principal photography began in red on January 18, 2010 in Toronto, Canada. Red was filmed in and around the metropolitan area of Toronto for nine weeks before moving on to the road and ending in New Orleans in late March for the final two weeks of shooting. Filming in the French Quarter of New Orleans began in March 2010. additional photography was shot by a post-credits scene in Louisiana in August 2010. The film is scheduled for worldwide release on 15 October 2010.
