Ernie Kovacs - "Silents Please" Introduction

[From "Kovacs Corner" on YouTube.com] - One of the last projects in which Ernie participated was hosting in it's second season a restropective half hour on the great silent actors and movies entitled "Silents Please". The actual production of the main footage was not supervised by Kovacs. The limit of his participation was the scripting and shooting of his introduction which was shot in his personal den at his home in Beverly Hills. Produced by Paul Killiam and Saul J. Turell for Gregstan Enterprises, it aired Thursdays on the ABC Television Network from October 4, 1960 to March 23, 1961. As a FYI, a rundown of the silent movie stars in the introduction are Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson, William S. Hart, Lon Chaney Sr. (in makeup as 'The Phantom of the Opera" and also the father of Creighton "Lon Chaney Jr."), Buster Keaton, John Barrymore (brother of actors Lionel Barrymore, Ethel Barrymore, and the paternal grandfather of Drew Barrymore), Lillian Gish, and Douglas Fairbanks Sr. (father of the late actor Douglas Fairbanks Jr.).
