MOVIE & tv OPENING TITLES - THE MODERNS (the intersection of art & passion).

THE MODERNS (1988) is one of my favourite movies, set in one of my favourite periods: Paris during the 1920s when so many expatriate Americans (and Canadians) lived in Paris (eg: HEMINGWAY, FITZGERALD, STEIN, et al.). Keith CARRADINE leads a stellar cast portraying writers, painters & forgers, collectors, columnists, industrialists, philanderers and all-around drunks. The score and musical adaptations by Mark ISHAM add to the retro atmosphere.
