"The Ballad Of The Sad Cafe" Marvin Macy is besotted with Miss Amelia. She marries him, then humiliates him. When he returns from his self exile on the Mississippi Delta, his essence has darkened-as has his music. I wrote "Sweet Peaches" in the Delta Blues / Slide style as Marvin's "take that" to Amelia, the incomparable Vanessa Redgrave.
