Mad Men Star John Slattery Pitches for Kathleen Rice for NY Attorney General 'Roger Sterling' tells fans to vote for 'tough,' 'smart' & 'compassionate' longtime friend and former classmate to be New York State's first woman AG NEW YORK, NY (Sept. 10, 2010) -- Veteran actor John Slattery, who plays Roger Sterling on AMC's wildly popular series Mad Men, has gotten involved in the hotly contested five-way Democratic primary for New York attorney general by throwing his weight behind Kathleen Rice, a district attorney who if elected would be the first woman attorney general in the state's history. Slattery isn't alone among celebrities supporting Rice, who was elected as Long Island's first woman district attorney in 2005, defeating a 31-year, anti-choice Republican incumbent. Also supporting DA Rice are Queer as Folk star Michelle Clunie and Bravo's Andy Cohen. Slattery discussed his support with a video that DA Rice posted today on her website, www.kathleenrice.com, and is linked via an advertisement running on major news websites likely to be seen by New York voters.
