In 1979 one of romance novelist Danielle Steele's best sellers was brought to the screen (and into our hearts). The story of a woman (Kathleen Quinlan of "Apollo 13") and her boyfriend (Stephen Collins of "7th Heaven") who hit tragedy head on add an evil mother-in-law (Beatrice Straight) and you have the making of a three hankie weeper. A Beautiful theme song sung by Melissa Manchester highlights the film. The film opened at the Radio City Music Hall in New York in March of 1979 and has the distinction of being the very last film to play with a stage show after a long tradition at the theatre.
