MWOTRC OCTOBER 2011 MEETING - Ben Ohmart is guest speaker

Our speaker this month comes to us all the way from Japan. No kidding. He moved his company to Japan a number of years ago and with the help of Martin Grams we are fortunate to have him with us for this months meeting. Ben Ohmart has written biographies of Paul Frees, Mel Blanc, Don Ameche, The Bickersons, Walter Teltey, Daws Butler, Judy Canova, Joan Davis and the upcoming Frances Langford. He runs BearManor Media which has nearly 400 titles in print and lives in Kyoto, Japan. I think this is the furthest any speaker has ever come to address our club. Just to set the record straight, he flew to the United States a few weeks ago to attend the Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Convention at Hunt Valley Maryland and Martin used his influence to have him stay a few more weeks so he could speak at our meeting. That still does not diminish the fact that he traveled here from out of the country and made plans to stay for our meeting.
