The movie examines a seventy-year period when America cared little about the education of African-Americans. New Jersey's Bordentown School was an educational utopia, that taught values, discipline and life skills to generations of African-American children. 2008, 60 minutes Speaker: David Davidson, Producer/Filmmaker/Director Hosts: LeRoy Henderson and Dr. Clement A. Price A special tribute to historian Giles R. Wright Jr., and filmmakers Thomas C. Guy Jr. and St. Claire Bourne. Bordentown New Jersey's Historically Black School, affectionately known as the Tuskegee of the North. Modeled after Booker T. Washington's school, the 400 acre campus was self sustaining. The students built most of the 30 buildings. It included farms shops and labs. The school's excellent academic reputation attracted dignitaries and supporters such as Albert Einstein. The school was closed in 1955 due to the non compliance of the Brown vs. Board of education segregation decision. It is currently being used as a female juvenile correctional facility. Lastly it is deteriorating to the extent that it is listed on NJ's Top Ten Most endangered historical sites. It's an excellent example of how "People of faith", from various religions worked together to overcome the backward racist principalities ...
