COPWATCH: These Streets Are Watching: Behind the Scenes: Arrest Of Jacob Crawford July 26, 2003

From the streets of Cincinnati to Berkeley, the 2003 documentary These Streets are Watching weaves a lesson in legal rights within a canvas of police interactions and altercations. The film relies on civil rights lawyers, active cop-watchers and even the police themselves to tell the story. It is the snippets from the police themselves that are often the most interesting comments, and the perspectives from some officers in the film were somewhat surprising. What's missing from These Streets are Watching is the story of the producer/director Jacob Crawford. His voice can be heard throughout much of the film. And in addition to several brief cameos caught on the lens of other cop watchers, the footage of his arrest in Cincinnati appears three times in the film. I'm still not quite sure why he didn't include his own story, but over the summer while Life Allah was visiting the Bay, the three of us worked together to create a short video telling the story behind the story of These Streets Are Watching.
