Russell Harty interviews Paul McCartney 1 of 6
Russell`s interview with Paul in 1984 perfectly displays his underrated interviewing technique, note how, like Michael Parkinson, he asks a question then listens and gently prods and massages further responses from his guest. Also like Parky his guests seem to feel comfortable and at ease with their host, I think both Russell Harty and Michael Parkinson knew that their guests were the stars of the show, whereas some current tv interviewers believe we only tune in to see them !
