It was time to celebrate my 40th birthday in style! My first ever visit to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!... Day 1 13:00 The Showcase Show at the Pleasance Courtyard - a chance to watch 4 or 5 acts who separately all have their own headline show. Pick of the bunch was 'The Boy With Tape On His Face' 14:40 Mike Newall's 'Get Better Box' - very funny and great value at just £5! 16:25: Andy Zaltzman: Armchair Revolutionary at The Stand - for more Zaltzman (with John Oliver) download The Bugle podcast. Zaltzman alone is good, but together they are hilarious! 19:30 Sarah Millican at the Assembly Rooms - this was Bab's choice... Our day finished quite early as we'd been up since 4am to catch a flight from Bristol to Edinburgh. We did however make up for it the following day, when we stayed up until 2am to watch the 'Andy Zaltzman / John oliver reunion' Political Animal show!
