Norman Sword Cuts on Leather

A brief sample of cuts against leather. The leather proved tougher to pierce than we had expected, the "give" of the bag was definitely a factor as was the angle of the edge and location of edge impacting. Thrusts had no problem penetrating, even though the point of the blade was quite round in shape. But even a two-hand cut did not fully cut the harder leather. This shows John Clements from ARMA slicing at a piece of leather with a Dikon Norman Sword. I take no credit for this video, I simply posted it from the thearma.org to show the effects of a blade on leather. Note he remarks that it isn't really an accurate representation, but gives you an idea of the difficulty in cutting through even leather, while a thrust even with a rounded tip sword pierces it quite easily.
