We recently reported that the hunt was on for a female sidekick for Samuel L. Jackson's character Nick Furry in the upcoming Avengers Flick. The Search was said to be down to 4 actresses - V's Morena Baccarin, How I Met your Mothers Cobie Smulders , Jessica Lucas and Mary Elizabeth Win-stead. It now appears Cobie Smulders may have edged out her competition to emerge as the frontrunner for the Role of SHIELD AGENT Maria Hill. At least WE'RE hearing Smulders deal is on the fast track. The choice seems to make sense, especially since Director Joss Whedon also liked her as a candidate for Wonder Woman, back when he was working on that film.
