"Damage" is about "lust and obsession" and the damage it causes to others. Brittish Government Official, Steven Flemming (Jeremy Irons) and his son's fiancee, Anna Barton (Juliet Binoche) are blinded to the damage it causes to others and themselves. Their obsessive affair is based purely on impulsive attraction and the hidden emotion that feeds into their immediate physical desires.
