"Hallelujah" - Leonard Cohen - Walt Whitman HS Chamber Choir
The Walt Whitman High School (Bethesda, MD) Chamber Choir performs Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," choral version arranged by Philip Lawson. Jeffrey Davidson, conductor. Performed in the rotunda of the West Wing of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, December 19, 2004. "Baby I've been here before / I know this room, I've walked this floor..." The song, performed by Rufus Wainwright, appeared on the "Shrek" movie soundtrack and was also recorded by Jeff Buckley before his untimely death. The choral version is less familiar but equally affecting.
