Welcome to the 37th season of Saturday Night Live, with its opening show hosted by Alec Baldwin. www.snlpolitics.com Yes, it's Saturday Night, Alec Baldwin now holds the record for hosting SNL the most times, and if there's anyone out there who should have Scweddy Balls it's the Republican Party. As I predicted earlier this week, SNL found it irresistible to open their 37th season on the air with a spoof of the Republican Presidential debate held earlier this week. And as I also predicted, Alec Baldwin found the prospect of taking on the role of Texas Governor Rick Perry in that debate equally irresistible, thankfully freeing up Jason Sudakis to play Mitt Romney -- the guy who I think is almost certain to be challenging President Obama in the fall of 2012. Now normally at this time in the Presidential Primary season we'd be looking to that Florida Republican straw poll, which was held earlier today, to predict who'd be the winner of the GOP nomination, but with former Godfather Pizza CEO Herman Cain coming in at first place, winning twice the number of votes of the second and third place candidates, Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, I think we're far better served to look at who the winners and losers were in the SNL Parody debate. Now Newt Gingrich has been on the airways complaining about the media not taking his candidacy seriously, but SNL nailed him to the wall when they had him ejected himself from their debate because HE wasn't taking his own candidacy seriously—which ...
