This is the location in West Memphis, AR where Christopher Byers, Michael Moore, and Stevie Branch were found dead the afternoon of May 6, 1993. This video was shot on Saturday, August 15, 2009. As you can see, the area has changed drastically in the past 16 years. Of particular interest is the large turtle in the bayou diversion channel. Attorneys for Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley have been presenting expert testimony over the last week in Jonesboro, AR in hopes of getting two of the West Memphis Three a new trial. These experts have said (among other things) that the wounds to the bodies of the boys were made by animals native to the area (most notably turtles) and were NOT caused by a knife as was asserted in the original 1994 trials. I was quite pleased that I was able to get video of a such a creature on my recent trip to the scene.
