Sometimes in death an artist is appreciated more than when they lived, and that may be the case with Beverly Kenney. Her recording career was relatively short spanning from 1956 to 1959 (she committed suicide in April of 1960 at the age of 28), but in that time this jazz singer who sounded a great deal like June Christy made an impression. Her music today is especially prized in Japan where she has become something of a cult figure. "It's A Most Unusual Day" was composed by Harold Adamson & Jimmy McHugh for the 1948 film "A Date With Judy" where it was first introduced by Jane Powell. Beverly recorded this in 1958.
