Singing legend, Etta James has passed away at the age of 73. According to her longtime manager and friend, Lupe De Leon, the soulful singer died from complications brought on by leukemia. Leon said QUOTE: "This is a tremendous loss for the family, her friends and fans around the world. She was a true original who could sing it all---her music defied category. I worked with Etta for over 30 years. She was my friend and I will miss her always." The singer also suffered from dementia and hepatitis C, but sure stood strong until her very last days. James died at a hospital in Riverside, California, where her husband, Artis Mills, and her sons were by her side until the very last moment. The talented, Etta James' powerful version of "At Last"—originally sang by Glen Miller, became an iconic success in 1961. James, also known as "Miss Peaches," first took the top charts as a teenager in 1955, with her song "The Wallflower (Roll With Me Henry)." The singer's R&B --Soulful, Blues songs led this powerhouse star to an eventful musical career. She opened for the Rolling Stones; won six Grammy's and was voted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
