Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a upi entertainment update on this Wednesday, May 9, 2007. Actress Brittany Murphy is now a married woman. Her rep tells People magazine she tied the knot to British writer and director Simon Monjack a few weeks ago. It was apparently a very intimate ceremony at their southern California home. The pair took their first trip as a married couple last weekend...to attend the Kentucky Derby in Louisville. The actress has been engaged twice before...the first wedding was called off in 2004 and the other relationship ended last August. Paris Hilton is asking California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for a pardon. On her personal page on Myspace.com , she urges friends and fans to sign a petition asking the Governor to pardon her of her jail sentence. Hilton says her friend started the petition. There's no word on Schwarzenegger's reaction to the movement. One court is ordering her to spend 45 days in jail for violating her probation. Her attorney is now trying to appeal that decision. Singer George Michael is admitting to driving while on drugs. Police found Michael slumped over the wheel and blocking an intersection in London last year. A British newspaper reports the singer said yesterday in court that he suffered from "tiredness and prescribed drugs." In earlier hearings, he apparently denied taking drugs while driving.
