Robert Novak Storms Off CNN Set
August 4, 2005, conservative columnist and regular television contributor Robert Novak stormed off the set of CNN's "Inside Politics." He was appearing on the show with liberal political analyst James Carville to discuss, among other things, Katherine Harris' just-announced bid for US Senate and the ongoing investigation into the Valerie Plame leak. At one point, Novak became frustrated with Carville's comments and decided to end the workday early. After the incident, many speculated that Novak's dramatic departure was made to avoid a discussion about the brewing Valerie Plame controversy.
