The Last Laugh 1924 2/4
The Last Laugh/ Der Letzte Mann was a 1924 B&W silent film about the changing fortunes of a hotel doorman. Directed by FW Murnau (Nosferatu, Faust) and written by Carl Mayer (Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Sunrise), it is noteworthy for its use of a moving camera (one of the first to do so) and near lack of intertitles. Pushed to the brink of obscurity throughout the years, it is shared here for new movie lovers to discover and enjoy. As far as I can tell, this film is in the public domain. I will take it down if asked. EDITED: Youtube administrators think this video contains music by lo-fi rock band Drunken Butterfly. I went out of my way to find and listen to the band's song Der Letzte Mann and confirmed it was misidentified, so I went ahead and filed a dispute. This copyright claim has nothing to do with the film or the actual score used.
