The Great Gatsby Part 2 - The Party, Chapter 3. I am sharing a rare meeting of two marvelous contemporaries, F. Scott Fitzgerald's words read by the talented and intelligent Franchot Tone. Read their histories to see the tremendous parallels, which add a perceptible truth to the reading. I am giving only occasional excerpts from the collection that is over fifty years old, hence the vintage sound I converted. This particular excerpt is slightly abridged. The Great Gatsby is a brilliant work that revealed the Jazz Age for what it really was. Franchot Tone reads all these works beautifully and somehow improves upon them. If you think you've read a similar description from my other video, you would be right. What I like especially about this intimate reading is that it is in Franchot Tone's voice not a screen character's. Enjoy.
