I love to look at classic photographs in the Library of Congress. Some of them I used in my video The Rock River and the Black Hawk War. Another collection I discovered is from Carl Van Vechten, an Iowa boy who grew up to work for the Chicago American and the New York Times. His circle of friends included writers, actors, and other famous people he recorded with a 35 mm Leica.
