Get Your Licks On Route 66! Puppy Mill Awareness Day-Downtown Los Angeles-9/17/11

Get Your Licks On Route 66: Saturday, September 17th, 10 am to 3 pm on Main St. (part of historic Route 66) between 5th and 6th. Dozens and dozens of shelter dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and bunnies will be available for adoption, with free gifts for their new owners. Bring your pet: There'll be free vaccinations and microchips while supplies last; free nail trimming, ear cleaning, and IDs; free raffles; DJ; food trucks; a program saluting local animal advocates, with celebrity guests including KTLA's Lu Parker, actress Elaine Hendrix, and actor Orlando Brown who'll be screening his new music video, Heroes (www.youtube.com and more. Bilingual volunteers will be on hand to see that everyone feels welcome, can take advantage of the free services, and maybe go home with a wonderful new member of the family.
