Eli Roth "Viva Bombolo"
Eli wanted to mention his favorite actors and actresses who are not generally respected in Italian cinema (with the exception of Edwige Fenech - the Mike Meyers character in Inglourious Barterds, general Ed Fenech is named after her by the way) so that journalists would then write about them and fans discover and re-discover their movies. These actors inspired Eli Roth for one of the best scenes in Inglourious Basterds, so get on google, search out these great actors and track down their movies! Go! The audio is a little hard to understand so here is a transcript: I can say that I studied in a very exclusive academy and that would be The School of Bombolo. I watched every movie, I watched every movie Cicero, Viva La Foca, I studied the great, the most important actors in the history of Italian cinema: Bombolo, Alvaro Vitali, Lino Banfi, Lando Buzzanca. Really, I think Viva La Foca by Nando Cicero is the definitive masterpiece of Italian cinema. I think its the greatest film ever made. Lori del Santo, Michela Miti. I watched every Edwige Fenech, every Gloria Guida film, every Barbara Bouchet. So, so I really wanted to fully channel the spirit of Bombolo into that one gesture. Viva Bombolo!
