I thoroughly enjoyed those years. I liked Westerns for two reasons: First, it took the actor outside. They were all very physical at that time and not limited to a stage. Second, they paid my rent an awful lot.

Fear in the Night (1947)

A film noir directed by Maxwell Shane and starring Paul Kelly and DeForest Kelley (in his film debut). It is based on the Cornell Woolrich story "And So to Death" (retitled '"Nightmare" in 1943). Woolrich is credited under pen name William Irish. Director: Maxwell Shane Writers: Cornell Woolrich (story), Maxwell Shane (written for the screen by) Stars: Paul Kelly, DeForest Kelley and Ann Doran A man dreams he committed murder, then begins to suspect it was real.
