To cover this song I was in the same time Paul Simon AND Art Garfunkel ! I had a great time and a lot of fun doing it and I hope you'll appreciate my work. To me this song is one of the best ever ! The lyrics are bright and original telling the story of this poor guy, the boxer. Listen to the crescendo violins of the big orchestra at the end with my "lie la lie ..." (too many perhaps ? :)) -- as many as Simon and Garfunkel's). What a fantastic era the sixties, the one I like best ! In this period the Beatles were creating dozens of great songs and singers and groups appeared almost every week such as the Bee Gees, the Beach Boys, the Whos, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen while Cliff Richard, and even Elvis and Frank Sinatra were a bit eclipsed by this pop wave.
