Here is an extremely rare video that prior to this was rumored to be an Urban Legend. In the third installment of the Smokey and The Bandit Movies Jackie Gleason took on the role of both Sheriff Bufford T. Justice and The Bandit. The film was so confusing and ridiculous that it was scrapped and scenes were added with Jerry Reed playing the bandit. If you look closely on the DVD release of Smokey and the Bandit 3, you can see scenes in a quarry where the stunt double driving the trans am is a larger man who looks like Jackie Gleason. I was actually one of the few who saw the test screening of Smokey Is The Bandit at the Lakewood Theaters in Lakewood Ca.
