Wyndford community finds its voice in many ways. Wyndford Glasgow Save Our Schools campaigners wrote a song which shows just what they think of Glasgow City Council and Council leader Steven Purcell's attempts to shut down 25 Glasgow primary and nursery schools. An entertaining performance on a serious subject. The New Labour councillors are warned they will face the music at the next election if they go ahead with their plans to close them. Introduced as "the Billy Connolly of Maryhill", our music man leads off with a rendition of "The Wyndford Song" and the local community relishes joining in the chorus to blast the council and Purcell. Then they sing all the verses again, this time with the accompaniment of a young guitarist. The words of the song are as follows: VERSE 1 "I'm locked in a school in the Wyndford Estate And we're occupying two of our schools.
